[Geckos and Goannas]

here are some pics of my new goni tank with the aquarium heater idea. i havent put them in there yet. im tring to see how stable it is. its been setup for a week now and is working great! temps range between 77-80F during the day and 71-74F at night. humidity stays 80-90%. the lights are on just so that you can see inside.

How do you keep dryer areas?

For the record, with long term healthy animals I beleive they can tolerate less humidity then you might be lead to beleive (i.e. it does not need to be near 100%) as long as they have humid retreats. I actually reduce the humidity a bit when things cool off because I got skin infections one year from low temps with high humidity.

the 2.5 gallon has a screen lid on it and only half the tank is covered with seran wrap. i have one hiding place on the drier side and 2 on the humid. ive added more to the tank sence the pics were taken and the geckos are not in the tank yet. like i said im tring to see how stable it is. so far its working great. i might put them in there in a week. its not said and done. its more of an experiment.

also to the tank looks so sweaty and wet because i took the pics when i had just set it up and misted every thing to make it look nice. except for the temp pic that was taken the next day.

Was just mentioning about if a top was on it because mine often climb on top of things at night and they have quite a lot of jumping ability when they really want too.
