goni confusion can be fun?
Many of us have either asked the question regarding the difference between hainanensis and lichtenfelderi or are at the very least familiar with it. The recent questions regarding hybridization in other posts, along with the issues we face with the severe inbreeding in the japanese gonis (from which almost all captive populations appear to be traced back to a few individuals) makes for interesting contemplation and discourse in regard to current breeding programs. So... for sheets and wiggles I'm putting a link I've posted on another forum for all to peruse and if anyone can get their hands on the June 2010 issue of Discover (or a link) there is an article on species titled "unclassified". You may find it boring, but I think it is interesting and to a degree pertinant and if not for anything else makes for good conversation.
