    Red face Substrate?

    LOG IN TO CLOSE THIS AD   

    I am not sure if this has been posted before, but I am in the middle of setting up a new terrarium for my future crested gecko(s). I am going to be using all fake plants - any suggestions on what type of substrate to use? Can I still use peat moss etc. or does that work best with a planted terrarium? Sorry if this seems like a silly question, I'm a bit of a newbie haha!

    Any other advice etc would be muchly appreciated!

    I use plantation soil for my older crested geckos even though I primarily use silk plants.

    For younger or sick cresties I recommend paper towel to reduce impaction risk, and to allow you to monitor their poop better. It's also easier to clean and change.
