to high, and not enough floor space?

So i have my female cresty, who i am placing with a male in the spring, in a 55gal tank. it is 48"L x 18"D x 24"H and as i always hear that cresties want more hight so i was thinking of putting the cage on its side, but do you think 24"x18" is enough floor space for her?

It should be fine. I have my crestie in a 12x12x18 and he's been fine.
