O.O!
That does look sort of weird... do you by any chance have more pictures? A top view and a side view? It could be that his/her skin just clung on to the sides of the glass at that moment. You should gently slide your fingers (as if your pinching him with your index and thumb) and see if that part abnormally protrudes out.
As for male or female...Can't really tell as it is not close enough. But I'm seeing hints of manhood. A better vent/pore pictures would help.. as well as a side pic will help people judge the bump. How old is this gecko/how much does it weigh?

I've never weighed him/her, don't have a scale. Purchased as a baby in June of this year. He turned around and I don't see the same protrusion, perhaps it was just an odd angle for him. With the way my setup is, getting more pictures would be difficult, and I don't want to bug him more than I already have lol. If he presents me with the opportunity later, I will.

i bought a very young bearded dragon from an expo and when i got her home i noticed that too. i think it was a broken rib because she was being kept in such a small cage with so many others. she died about a month later. i hope gets better but it kinda looks like somthing is broken :/

Well, I'm doubting an injury. I've had him since June, he has the cage all to himself, and I rarely handle him. So unless he tried to play "flying gecko" when I wasn't looking, I don't see how he could break his rib. I don't really see any protrusion when he's just hanging out, perhaps it was just the angle he was at on the glass. Eats fine, moves fine, etc. So until I start seeing symptoms of injury or internal bleeding or something I'm not going to worry about it. Not exactly much I could do to fix it even if it were broken. I'll just keep an eye on him.

It really just looks like his skin clung to the glass there. Look VERY closely and maybe you'll see it for sure too. Looks like its just the bottom part of his skin and not his whole side that is sticking out.
Cresties are sturdy little guys so I doubt he'd have done something THAT bad by himself. Even if he's being reckless and trying to be Super Man
I have a female who climbs the screen to the top of her cage and looses her footing and falls off
But she's perfectly fine. Why she keeps doing it, I have no clue. She may think that's how you're supposed to bungey jump
