Hi...
Don't panic...the way I did when I got my first one!! LOL
Yes you are not supposed to handle in the first two weeks...especially with really young geckos...I would be lying if I told you that I followed that advice..
Use a white lid of some sort, I use a flat sour cream lid, spread small amount VERY thinly and you will see the lick marks for sure!! Normal not to eat while getting adjusted...One of mine ate fine and one didn't eat for 2 weeks!!

Humidity should be raised to 80%-90% at night time misting and then allowed to drop down to 50-60% during the day..Heavy misting at night because this is when your gecko is active.

I bought a digital humidity/temperature guage at Home Depot for 9 bucks..with a suction cup built in...LOVE IT!!!! The dial guages aren't good...especially my T Rex guage...sucks sucks sucks sucks...

Hope that all helps!!

Thank you for the reply!
So i was told that anuthibg over 60 on the hydrometer is no good ever? Also i have all fake plants Shoulx i get a real one for the terrarium and if so which one? Coz some of the ones im finding that geckos like are hard to care for themselves... Seems like a 'snake plant' might b most low maintenance and the best for hiding ??

You heard that anything over 60% is no good ever? You heard wrong..absolutely. The geckos need a humidity cycle...at night they should be heavily misted (adult) up to 80% (some say higher) and then it should be allowed to cycle down throught the night and day to around 50%..but mine is never that low...usually 55-60% for mine. I have no real plants. YOu don't need them...if you WANT them that's fine but you certainly don't need them.

Hey again thanks for the reply that teally helps and thats actually perfect coz hes at 60 in the day and 80 ish at night : )
I just introduced some chinese evergreen and a couple pieces of bark and he seems to dig the wood but hes still hiding in the leafs of the fake plant where he usually chills so not sure how the evergreen is gona work out. Apparently they llove this fake plant i got him u probably know it its got a little water cup in the center...
Im gonna try to take a pic of the tank see if i can get any suggetions its pretty tiny but i was told it should suffice for his entore lifetime? Starting to seriously doubt that..

If the tank is tiny...it definitely will NOT suffice...Each of mine are in an 18"x18"x18" Exo Terra... that is a 25 gallon tank.
Here is one of mine..it houses one 30 gram male crested.

I use photobucket...it's free. After you upload your pictures, you just click on the IMG code for that image and then paste it over here in your message..

any amount of misting is ok. I would recomend twice a day. I specalize in these and have six. I also breed them. you can handle them alot and they don't get stressed.
