Ummm... maybe Im just speaking a bit too soon - but I havent heard of this happening in a normal situation...?

If it stays like that for the rest of the day you should probably remove him from his enclosure and put him somewhere very clean and moist.. Like maybe a big tupperware with warm and damp paper towels.
And then a vet visit if it lasts over 24-30 hours like that...

You need to act quickly when you have a prolapsed hemipene (when his junk is stuck out).

Put him in a sugar-water solution, this helps the tissues by osmosis to put things back together. You can then put honey or K-Y jelly on the hemipene to help keep it moist and retract if it didn't from the soak.

Keep him on damp paper towels for the next 12 hours, repeating the soak once or twice. If it's been more than 24 hours (or 12 hours since you began the sugar-water & honey treatment) you need a vet to help get it back in, or the hemipene will shrivel up and die.

Good luck, this is a very serious issue but can be treated if you act quickly.

He can still reproduce with one hemipene.

That's good to know. I already ordered another male well more breeding stock. I have been doing everything I have read on the Internet and it has been hanging out for 4 days now. Any tips for pushing it back in cuz my herp vet is out Of town.

It's best if a vet does it, but you may be able to put it back in yourself. You may also end up further injuring him. Have you been doing the sugar water soaks and lubricating with honey (or KY)?

You may have to have a vet remove it at this point.

Try some preparation-H. 4 days is a long time. You need to get him to a vet asap if you can't get it to retract.

X2. That + a temp tank with moist paper towel substrate is what most vets will recommend. Don't skip the vet if it doesn't retract very soon. It can lead to infection & worse.
