Default Sealing new viv?!?!?!

We've got a new viv, 3 sides are wood and glass fronted. In the instructions it says to seal it of properly with silicon! Is this safe for geckos? Should I get special silicon or will normal do?

Cheers for any advice!

Kim.

Most silicone is safe, I've used GE type II silicone multiple times and its safe, if your still worried you can find aquarium silicone at your local pet store/fish store and it will be safe also!

What are you housing?

Would anyone also be able to help with a lighting situation? I know cresties are nocturnal and most people say they don't need uv lighting, some care sheets say they do, should I fit a light? or will a moonglo light be enough (which is more for us to be able to see him/her than anything, but have been told they are good for nocturnal geckos!)
If I should fit a uv light, can you suggest any please!

Cheers, I want to offer our new family member the best home possible!

You should provide some type of lighting. I only say this because 3 sides of your enclosure will be opaque. So it couldn't hurt for the little guys to know what is day and night.
