You can house 2 un-sexed cresties together that are close in weight (with-in 1-2grams from each other). But if your current crestie is a male, then you really need to house separately as males will fight/bully other males or smaller cresties. You do not want to house male/females together unless they are both of breeding weight and your intent is to breed. Male cresties do not care how old a female is, his natural instinct is to breed with any female, whether of age or not.

They'd fight only if they are both males. You can house multiple females together, or multiple females with 1 male, but it is never recommended to house 2 males together due to aggression & bullying.

Your boy would probably know the sex of the other crestie probably as soon as you would put them together. I just wouldn't risk it, especially if your boy is considerable larger he might even attack to kill/eat. Adult cresties can kill/eat their babies, that's why you never see people leave the eggs in the tanks with their mothers....unless they hide their eggs from us really really well in a natural viv, then you must immediately remove the baby as soon as you spot it.

Most crested geckos prefer to live alone. They can tolerate others at times, but very rarely do they prefer the "company" of other geckos. Some mated pairs seem to develop bonds but for the most part seem to thrive when housed separately. Even females will fight, I have one female who does not tolerate other females in her enclosure.

The only companion suitable for an adult male is a female of breeding weight and your intent is to get babies. Even then, many breeders don't house them together year-round. I only have one pair that I am comfortable with housing together permanently.
