Default Crested gecko purchase?

Hello,
I am just asking where to get well cared for, low cost, and good colored crested geckos from.
It may be a larger website but I don't want a website that has a bunch of other things that they sell because then they don't focus on how they treat their gecko enough.
Also should I get one from a reptile show instead of online?

Thanks!

There are some advantages to buying from a show- you can see a gecko in person, don't have to pay shipping, and can talk with the breeder about their husbandry right then and there. Also, this time of the year, shipping can be tricky due to the onset of cold weather.

Personally, most of my own Cresties have been bought online. I have access to a much larger selection (and I am extremely picky about what geckos go into my collection.) I research breeders pretty thoroughly before I buy, and I'm big on lineage/genetics, so I like to see pictures of at least parents if not grandparents.

The Pangea Reptile forum is probably the largest and most active Crestie forum, and it's very easy to find breeders there. www.FaunaClassifieds.com is a very good place to research a breeder's reputation.

That sounds like a good plan to me, just be aware that if you wait to buy online, you may not be able to get your gecko shipped until spring. Most breeders won't ship when the temps are below 45F at night, as it's very risky for the geckos.

talk to a local pet store that is not a chain. No pet co or crap like that they can usually let you know the local breeder
