Unhappy I am kinda frustrated right now

I got my juvi crested gecko some crickets and he doesnt pay any attention to them. The cricket can climb on his head and he wont care, I offered the crickets to him once every 2-3 weeks but he dose not eat them should I be worried? I never see him eat cgd i'm running out of cgd so im giving him baby food (just for a day or two until i can get more cgd and the baby food is organic) and we will see how that goes but has you gecko ever done this?

Some just aren't insect eater, it's ok. I'd stay away from any baby food, they can go several days without food and not cause any problems.

Sometimes they need to get the 'taste' for crickets. And most of my rachs havent had any interest in bugs until they were about 3-4 months old, so if he's really young it may be that.
It's gross, but you can try taking the head off a cricket and letting your crestie smell the guts. Sometimes that flips a switch in their little brains and they go wild for crickets after that.
Definately get rid of the baby food! And gl with him!

Its alot more sugary and sweet than CGD, and it lacks the calcium/nutrients that have been added to the powdered diet. Going from CGD to baby food is like giving a kid candy. Of course, they are going to want the candy. But it's not healthy for them and they can develop a taste for it and not want the CGD after.

I'd consider baby food the equivalent of feeding your gecko cotton candy. It's too high in sugar and the nutrient ratios are all skewed so most likely will interfere with your gecko's ability to properly metabolize what little may actually be present. The really major issue is what Logie said- it's so sweet it might trigger your gecko to hold out for more sugar rather than eating the CGD when it arrives.

I'd personally let a gecko go for a few weeks without rather than offering baby food. Dusted insects are infinitely better than baby food. If it won't eat them, then it's really not hungry in the first place.

Thank you Laura im starting to find out why baby food isn't good for crested geckos. The only reason im confused is because the pet store said organic baby food is good for a few days? So yea I just found out I have a little cgd left for one or two servings so im going to cook up some cgd for my gecko!

Mine little one seems to prefer meal worms and reptiworms to crickets when she actaully eats insects. She seems to like the Repashy mix more than anything else and likes to drink water off of leaves when I mist her cage.
