Default Granite Tail?

My first baby just hatched! So woo I'm really excited. But That's not the only reason I'm posting. It's also because this little guy has an interesting trait I've never seen before. On his tail there seems to be a granite like pattern on it. It's odd especially because it is black and white, and he doesn't have those colours anywhere else. Has anyone seen this before? Could there be something wrong with his tail?

Sorry it's not the best picture..

Can't see the picture but would be interested in seeing it. My fat tail juvies have some black and white patterning on the tail so if you can come up with the picture, I'll compare it to theirs.

Congrats on your baby! That thick chunky tail is always a good sign imo for babies

But I will agree with everyone else that the tail is normal. Many babies, almost all babies are born with that 'granite' appearance. Some are born with solid white tails, some (like my olive male has a solid brown/olive tail) with a solid base.

Sorry I thought this was in the fat tail forum instead of the crestie forum. Now I can see the picture and it does look like a tail within the normal range.

That's just like mine and my brother's and I think it's just cool contrast.
