get a tupperware container with some small holes poked into it (not big enough for him to get out or anything) and put in a paper towel bunched up a bit and mist it with water, slightly above room temp, not hot, not cold. Place your gecko in there for a max of 30mins, but make sure you keep an eye on him. Do this a few times a day, if he does not improve call your vet to ask. This should work in minor cases. Use distilled water, like smart water. It's more hydrating.
Also, what kind of mister do you have? I have a habba mist and it gets clotted sometimes. The customer care people said it was because I was using regular bottled water, not distilled. You can clean your mister by putting in some white vinegar and water and running it through several times (that is if the motor still works).
Next time I'd recommend leaving your pet with someone. Possibly buy a much smaller travel friendly terrium (I have a 12x12x12) or even use a large critter keeper if you can leave him with someone responsible.
