Unhappy Cresite foot issue!

I'm new to this site, so bare with me, please!

so I just got this crested Gecko four days ago (I named him Edward Stickyhands). Today when I came home from school I went to go check on him and when I looked at his toes, I thought he had some dirt on them, but when I tried to brush it off I realized it was his SKIN. It looks like this brown fungus that's growing on his toes. So I took him out of the tank and looked closer and I gently touched it and he moved it away like it hurt him. I tried touching his other feet and those didn't seem to hurt him. I also noticed that he's not sticking to anything either!

I make sure that I spray his tank several times a day and I do a good one before I go to bed. Edwards humidity is at about 68% and his temp. is at 72 F.

I'm hoping I'm not doing anything wrong and that he's not suffering. HELP PLEASE!

Anything is useful!!!!

first off, welcome to the forum ,also you might have better luck posting this in the crested gecko section of this forum.

It sounds to me like stuck shed on his feet. Try putting him in a tupeware bowl with a wet paper towl for a couple of minutes and wiping it off with a cotton swab.

As for it hurting it might just be a reaction to you touching his hand. (a picture would help)

I know that you're new, but please in the future try to make your posts in appropriate places. "News, Rules, and Updates", is pretty obviously not the appropriate place for your questions. I'm going to go ahead and move this to the "Crested Gecko" section of the forums for you.

I agree with ciliatusguy, it sounds like he's been fingerpainting in his food (mine do that on a regular basis) and needs some help getting clean. Left unattended, dried food can cause all sorts of issues including shed issues and infections.

Here's how to give your gecko a sauna:

Yup sounds like stuck shed or food. Hopefully he didnt crush a toe or something. A warm soak as suggested seems best. You may want to get your humidity up to 80-90 % at night. Then let it cycle down and give a light mist in the morning, not too much to cycle up, but for drinking. Then mist again at night to start the humidity cycle high again. Dont let the tank stay too wet, but cresties need more than 68% for a high humidity. Good luck. Hope the toes feel better.

Try not to touch the gecko until at least a week after you get him. That might be why he is doing that.
