Default Repti Bark and Fluker's crestie food

I have been wanting and researching cresties for a long time, and was surprised with a baby crestie for Christmas! Unfortunately, my well-meaning, lovely boyfriend (the giver) did not do as much research as I did and just trusted the pet store worker for information. The gecko looks to be about a month or 2 old, and is healthy and happy, as far as I can tell.
I was given a 20 gal. tank with Zoo Med Repti Bark as substrate. I think the 20 gallon tank is too big for now, and will be getting a smaller one soon. Is 10 gallons still too big for this little guy? And I've heard that paper towels are a good substrate, but I think they're kind of ugly . Is the Repti Bark a bad floor covering?
I was also given Fluker's CGD flakes, and I have a feeling that s/he won't eat it. Should I keep trying with it, mix it with some Repashy CGD or just forget about it all together?

Dont know a whole lot about cresties, but any young lizard/gecko should be housed on paper towels. I know it looks bad but it is so much easier to see poop on it and much easier to clean.

And for the cgd i dont know, but pretty much everything ive read about cresties on the forum says to me just go with repashy.

Well I would replace the repti bark with coco fiber or ground peat it just holds humidity better and is a decent growing media for plants. Also ditch the flukers CGD because I highly dout the crestie will eat it. Just feed the rapashy, it's all you really need

I personally wouldn't feed the Flukers food.

I'd go with paper towel substrate for a young crestie, especially for the first few weeks so you can monitor for poop. You can move to a more naturalistic setup later after s/he is a bit bigger, if you want, but I would definitely go with one of the finer ones like Ozy suggested rather than bark.

O and on the tank size thing I personally wouldn't worry to much as he will be able to find his food. But there are some people who do like to keep them in smaller set up so that they can monitor them better.

I thought it might be that he won't eat the Fluker's. I'll chuck it!

I put down paper towels (with some bark around the edges to keep it down, and to make me a little happier haha), and ordered some Repashy.

Thanks for the help!
