Question When do new hatched Laticauda eat???

Have 3 new Goldusts in a set up ................they are maybe about 1 week old now.............they drink the mistings I do, but don't seem interested in eating at all. I gave them some new hatched fruit flies and even a few just a little larger.................they seemed to dislike if they touched them and showed no interest in thier movments or any thing . I took the fties out again and will wait a few days and try again ................just wondering , whats up................. small cricks are the only other thing I could try .............but the flies are a lot smaller and seem more in line with what they might want (as far as size goes) Way up in Northern Mn I have no other options ............

i have a breeding pair of these, and raised a few hatchlings, and i can never see any noticable amount of food missing from the bottle lid i put it in, nor did i ever see one eat. the only way i can tell they eat is that the adults breed and the juvis grow.
i usually notice droppings within 48 hours of one being placed in a juvi setup with food.
i feed repashy superfoods MRP.

So long as there enclosure is not so big that they don't see the pray items. Often you just have to wait for instincts to kick in. Be sure that you always have some fruit fly's in with them but not so many as to stress them. Keep your yogurt mix available always. If you see that they are visibly skinny (folds of skin on there sides) try dabbing some of your mix near there mouths avoiding there nostrils. Hope this helps

Having raised quite a few gold dust hatchlings, I think it takes a week or two before they become interested in fruit flies. I offer them mango baby food with a little calcium supplement mixed in. Eventually, they will start taking fruit flies and small crickets.

Do they have places to hide so they are not too stressed? Just an idea.

Good luck!

Most likely you are not going to see them eat for a while. After you offer them food leave the room. They will be really skittish about eating in front of you for a few months. I would try to leave yogurt in with them at all times so they have something to eat.
