Right you are--it is taller than 15 cm. Subtracting the depth of the substrate, it's more like 26 cm.
The more comfortable they get, the more of the space they use--they'll go everywhere. Their absolute favorite spots are the bamboo and the top of the cork bark--and the feeding platform, which they check whenever I mess with the tank. <lol>
I don't have any Phelsuma yet, so perhaps I'm just not as familiar with day geckos. These are my first diurnal geckos.

i think theres some confusion on how big i have built this.. its 60cm high, 45cm wide, and 15cm deep.. we have also put a "lip" on the front so the substrate can be held in without it all falling out everytime the doors are opened, which sits about 6cm high, so with the substrate, the tank will be 54cm high.
i know it probably isnt deep enough for him,but there will only be him in there. the size ive made it is all i can give to it. being in a smallish bedroom with a heck of a lot of other stuff in here already, and it being on the wall too, 15cm deep is all i can give.
at least its bigger than what he is in now!

60 high by 45 wide and 15cm deep sounds way better, the same with having only the one fella in there!

Brilliant.. the build is almost done now.. should be ready for the lil fella 2moro hopefully. It's only taken this long as I work nights at the minute, so am having to do it when i get a chance!!
But ive got the hubby on it too!! so he's making the perspex doors to go on it now, then by the time i get home 2nite, it should be done, all going to plan!!
Just one other question, if I was to come across a female for sale, could I get a male and a female in the size tank we've built?
Ill post some pics when its done.
And thanks for all the advice guys, been a real help x

I think given the height and width that it should not be a problem to later introduce a female. Just make sure you have plenty of basking spots in there so they do not have to compete.
