Congratulations! Is this a new pair, or did you acquire a female to pair up with your male? I only dream of keeping this species - you're very fortnate.

Best of luck with breedng ornata!

This is a completely new pair as my male is VERY shy and wont eat much at all. I fear for his health to be honest as he refuses to put on weight. He doesn't seem to show much interest in crickets or locust or anything for that matter

Hopefully i'll have better luck with this pair and the single male will get a bit better (although that seems unlikely as i susupect he may be wc)

I'm glad you said something because I was going to ask and didn't want to be pointing fingers but he looks MUCH more vivid than any CB ornata I've ever seen a photo of.

Does a fair bit of smuggling still go on in the EU?

Either way its a stunning animal and I wish you the best of luck with it.

Lol i meant i suspect the other male is wc, not this new one!

This male is eating well and seems quite tame by ornata standards so i dont think he is wc. My other male is very very shy, rather thin, and is almost impossible to photo. His colours aren't very strong, but i think he may be young.

I really dont know if much smugling happens, but i was told by the seller that he got the animals in a trade and didn't want them so he sold them on (this is referring to my single male, not my new pair)

ah i see, haha, sorry for being presumptuous. But that new male is so vivid the first thing that popped into my mind was that it looked just like photos I've seen of wild ornata on the innerwebz.
