Hey, nothing like crested geckos. A 10 gallon is kindof small and is harder to heat properly, so if you can with a bigger tank do. Gold Dust Day Geckos (Phelsuma laticauda) are very easy to take care of and don't get huge. You should be able to find those pretty easily too for sale. I recommend you get the book "Day Geckos in Captivity" by Leann and Greg Christenson.

They like very bright lighting. As far as UV lighting goes, you can use it with good results, or you can skip it but you HAVE to do supplementing to make up for it(I recommend you read a lot about the topic before you make your choice) They also like it warmer than cresteds. Mid 80's during the day with basking spots of 90-95 and mid 70's at night

Pairs don't always get along and with a smaller enclosure your at a great risk for fights.

Phelsuma are in no way like Crested Geckos. Sure a Phelsuma may prefer a cooler spot now and then, but not the majority of time.

I believe what daggekko was getting at is that with a 10 gallon you are going to have a pretty hard time trying to keep with a varying degree of temps, besides quite warm. This is a common problem with smaller tanks.

Aside from raising young geckos, 10 gallons is pretty much a joke. There is just not much room to go for adults.

If you really want to get in to other geckos study study study! I second the book recommendation. It is a great book.
