Default P. quadriocelleta pics & some health concerns

Picked up this new female at the reptile super show yesterday.

Also my other female that ive had for awhile has seem to grown a growth on her back hip. Not sure exactly what it is. Im thinking bacterial or parasite. Shes eating every day but still seems to be loosing weight. Her knee also seems to be swollen or possibly a old fracture that healed weird. Anyone who has experience with WC animals please let me know if you know what it is. Im not too worried about it right now honestly as shes active, eating and shows good color most the time.

Heres the male.

Thanks
Jeff

I'm not sure about the growth, I was thinking bacterial infection or parasite, like you, but those are some of the nicest colored quadriocellata I've seen.

Could it be dislocated and that is causing the swelling/lump? It is very weird anyhow. I would say the same-if she is loosing weight that definately doesn't sound good. But you say she is eating and active. Confusing!

Yea im really confused about her situation. She took down 4 meal worms today, along with some Repashy day gecko diet. And has been every day, yet her spine is still showing. When I got her about 3-4 months ago nothing was wrong, its been about 2 weeks now that the bump has grown, her knee has always been swollen and shes always walked with it weird, so Im assuming its from the wild or shipping. Well see if it goes away or if it keeps growing.
I also had another pair that I recieved earlier in the year and the female had a similar issue under her neck, one day when I took her out to examine it it just fell off and she died about a week later, though she was much skinnier and a fresher WC( this pair I belive is over 1.5 year LTC) heres a picture of the old female with the lower throat growth.

Well your having problem with WC animals. First question-who did they come from? If you keep buying animals from the same supplier it might be a supplier problem. I am on the East coast and there is one supplier for sure I will never buy animals from again because of severe quality issues. I don't want you to say the suppliers name here (no need to badmouth people on the forum) but this is just a good question if you haven't thought about it.

I read on some post recently about some sort of flagellates or other parasite/bacteria/fungal thing that causes Phelsuma to get real skinny real fast. I have been awake for about 10 minutes now and can't think what it was. Maybe it is something that is treatable.

If your using the Repashy Day Gecko Diet I personally would put it in the enclosure daily. My geckos go nuts for that stuff and I've seen them licking the bowls at the end of the 2nd day. I mix mine nearly 3 parts water to 1 part powder to keep it moist much longer. If she is losing weight you can try to fight that by giving her the good stuff all the time

I have had a little bit to wake up more. Here is the thread I was thinking of. Maybe this could be part of your problem? Nematode problem

The girl with the problems died a few weeks after posting this. The other female seems to be doing ok. Let hope I can get some babys. I also aquired 2 CB babys from a local breeder to expand the group.

I'm sorry to hear she didn't make it. Any more idea what it was that caused that lump?
