Hi Mitchell,

Here in Europe are the Phelsuma abbotti sumbtio quiet common. The Problem we have is, that it is very hard to sell them because no one wants them.

Regards,
Markus

hmm that's interesting. Can you explain? You hear virtually nothing about them on here.

Sad too see this happening to so many species. I think the thing is the lack of crazy colors like other more common species. Even though i think abbotti are some of the coolest looking geckos. I would love to have sumptio in my collection but there are virtually none here in the US. inexpectata or ornata are easier to obtain.

I am surprised that live animals can be sold on ebay.In Britain you can only buy invertebrates on there.

Hi,

It's like Jeff said, the P. abbotti sumptio are not as nice colored as P. grandis or others are. That's the same reason why P. kochi isn't kept as much as grandis.
And the second problem is also their size. Most people wants smaller Phelsumas like the other abbotti subspecies...but also they are not as popular like for example P. nigristriata, P. klemmeri and P. laticauda laticauda. Pity, but it is the same with loads of other species...

Regards,
Markus
