Default Phelsuma borbonica (agalegae) mater hatchling and missed clutch

This hatchling came from a single egg clutch that was glued to a leaf. It hatched at the end of July. I'm finally posting some pictures that were taken quite some time ago.

Upon first hatching...(poor quality pictures taken with the camera on my cell phone)

One afternoon I noticed this...

Somehow between feeding, misting, and viewing my geckos (near daily), I missed this clutch tucked away in the Sansevieria. It was there for 45-60 days and I had no idea! That was not the first time (as I have done that with other species), but why did it have to be with this species? Haha. I'm trying to laugh it off.

I can only speculate that the hatchlings escaped from the enclosure or were consumed by one of three adults.

Awesome about the one that hatched. Sorry to hear about the others. They are so good at hiding the eggs!

Congrats man. I have 6 eggs incubating and should have some hatchlings soon. Also found 2 more cepediana eggs this week. Sadly, I lost one of my other hatchlings today. Win some and loose some.

And id have to say your eggs look like they were eaten before they got to hatch. Perfect hole in the top is unlikely for hatching. Id say crickets or roaches got to them.

Thank you, guys! Jeff, that is an excellent point. I did not consider that. I had been in and out of town, so the clutch could have been recently laid and the invertebrates got to them.

Fortunately, both females are presently gravid, so I'll be looking closely.

Do you have borbonica eggs incubating right now? Congratulations on the cepediana eggs!
