Default Yolk detached!

I'm not positive but I think the yolk fell off a hatchling born today prematurely. There's a fresh looking yolk with a tiny bit of blood in the incubator. Is this a concern? The hatchling does seem thinner than my last.

I would think not. If it keeps happening then yes for sure. I often leave my hatchlings in the incubator for up to a day before opening the containers to move them.

How many eggs has your female laid before this happened? I want to say my latest hatchlings were slightly smaller than the previous bunch and would think the fact that I've gotten 9 or 10 eggs out of my female this year that her laying so many could be why they are smaller now.

I'm not 100% sure how many she's lain totally this year. I acquired her from a pet store with a male about three months ago. So far this is my 3rd hatchling from her and I believe she's about to lay one more egg at least. I had to seperate her from the male. She was getting weak and possibly was being bullied. She's much better now.

Not much to worry about. I have had this happen a few times. I think the neonate has just in a hurry to get out of the egg and didn't absorb the yolk all the way. That being said the hatchling will be lacking that reserve so you should give him some extra attention to make sure he gets the hang of eating. Best of luck.

Well typically I feed after first shed as usual. It hatched yesterday so should I just go ahead and offer some fruit? I've already moved it to a 32oz fruit fly container with a strip of paper towel and a spritz of water.
