Default Grandis hatched!

I've been waiting for these guys to hatch for what feels like an eternity! One hatched on Friday and the second yesterday. Baby #2 escaped when I tried to get him out of the deli cup so he is currently MIA in my basement.

Here is the other baby though:

The next one should hatch in 2 weeks and the last 2 in about 6.

Thanks, both little ones are running loose in my house. There are some great old threads about recapturing lost day geckos so I'm working on it.

The one positive thing is my first breeding attempt was successful and now I know I need a tank built like Ft. Knox for the hatchlings. A third egg should hatch in the next week so I'm going to work on not losing that one.

I'm just thinking here.. I know they are small and quick and everything, but if you don't normaly keep doors and windows open, there are only so many places they could be..! The times when my big geckos have gotten loose I have always found them somewhere on the walls so far. Have you checked behind paintings and other stuff hanging on the walls..?

That's what I had assumed too, but no. Once I find them it should be easy, but baby grandis are extremely shy and alert. I'm better off looking around at night with a flashlight and checking behind furniture.

The 2nd clutch was a single egg laid 2 weeks later and it hatched on Halloween! Not as much red as the first 2 hatchlings, but still not bad.

Managed to find the original baby yesterday! It's a little thin and probably dehydrated, but it's very active today. So glad I recovered this little one, its colors are just awesome!
