I'd say roughly 1 year. Maybe a little more, maybe a little less(Leaning towards less). The problem is that 20's are so narrow that it is going to seem like a tiny tall tank to the P grandis. I would honestly just set up the 20L as a horizontal tank until you can get a bigger tank. It will be much easier to creat basking spots and have a warmer and cooler side to the tank than if you do it vertically. I did a 20L horizontal for my male P pasteuri for a bit when he was being to aggressive with the female. He really liked the tank and I thought it looked really good too. Granted they are way smaller than P grandis.
I did 2 20L verts and they are alright except with the 2 lamps on the top of each of them I have to usually open the door to give a good spraying(I like to spray through the tops if possible)
