New Phelsuma! :)
I was super stoked that Vicki from BFG had lots of Phelsuma at the Tampa Repticon yesterday! I was a few minutes too late to snag any of her adult P. standingi, but did manage to score two lovely subadults that Vicki thinks are already a bonded pair, a gorgeous Crimson x High Red Florida W/C adult female P. m. grandis, and two P. m. grandis hatchlings from the same cross.
The grandis female is still showing stress colors and completely in hiding, but everyone else has been out and about and seem to be adjusting quite well, so I snapped a few pics:
First off, the two hatchlings- Tikan and Tikel
Here's their QT enclosures
Tikan
Tikel
Next the two P. standingi, Maeva and Mirov. I can't tell them apart just yet lol

Nice! You are really getting bit by the Phelsuma bug.
When I can afford them the nice big space they deserve I'd love to own a pair of standingi and grandis, most probably this will have to wait until we own a house.

I almost got a pair of adult P standingi at the last expo. What stopped me was the fact that these 2 were the biggest Phelsuma I'd seen in person ever(FREAKIN HUGE!!!) and I didn't think it would be fair to put them in a 20 gallon tank.
lauraleellbp, how are those suction cups working for holding up the bamboo? I use paper towels but it seems more often than not I don't get a tight enough fit and the bamboo either rolls or falls.

I use magnets myself and they seem to work well. You can find them at Lowe's or Home Depot for dirt cheap. I use magnets to hold milk caps to the walls of the tank and fit the bamboo inside the caps.

Vicki didn't breed these Standingi herself, her husband picked them up as hatchlings at the 2010 Daytona show from another breeder (he didn't remember who). So they're about a year and a half old at this point.
I actually just separated them- the slightly larger one (I think it's the male) was bullying the smaller and wasn't letting it bask or eat. Hopefully I'll be able to put them back together in a few months... we'll see. :/ Tom said they'd seemed really attached to eatch other and they look like they're a M/F pair. Will be a bummer for me if that's not the case! lol
And the suction cups are working GREAT! The pressure from the bamboo pushing against them keeps them up tight against the glass and holds the bamboo in place all at the same time. If I had screen cages I'd probably go with magnets, though.
I'm going to have to watch the humidity in these ZooMeds carefully, I may end up having to switch the Standingi to screen cages if it turns out they stay too humid.

Terradas... Very nice idea with the caps and magnets... Might have to give that a shot.
Laureleellbp, did you take the male out of the main tank(if this is the tank you plan to house them in long term)? Also, I coul be wrong but I thought the standingi needed high humidity but dryer conditions.. If that makes any sense to anyone else(it sounded better in my head before typing it)

High humidity but drier conditions? No- I'm not following you! LOL
And I moved what I think is the female- just b/c she's pretty easy to handle (she clung to my fingers and did NOT want to let go! Squeaked at me when I was trying to convince her to get onto her new bamboo perch- so cute. ) All my Phelsuma are currently in QT and I'll redo their tanks entirely before putting them together, so hopefully won't have any territory issues.
My new Grandis female escaped today for a few hours!! Apparently I did not get one of the latches on the top screen secured all the way, and I came home to a corner of the top pushed open and her NOWHERE to be seen... I closed the door to my office/gecko room and sure enough she showed up a few minutes later crawling up behind my Crestie racks. Wasn't too hard to catch her in a big aquarium net and moved her back to her viv. She's finally colored up, active (maybe a little TOO active, with her Escape from Alcatraz lol), and eating today- which is a big relief, since she hid and was showing dark stress colors all day yesterday. I'll get some pics of her up soon.

You have to believe it sounded really good when I was thinking it. Now I just feel silly I am sure I read something along those lines at some point in my search for information!!
