Default Large Vivarium Ideas

So I'm in the drawing phases of a project.
I saw a Day Gecko at a local shop and decided I really wanted to keep one. Not for breeding, for myself/show.
The cage I want to put him in is a 40 gallon critter cage that I have stood on it's side. For those that are unfamiliar, it's a large 18Lx16Wx36T cage with a slide-lock lid.
I've used silicone to attach a small piece of plexiglass at the bottom of the cage opening to create a large container for drainage and substrate.
Now, I'm stuck. I don't really know what plants to start with or if I could try any water effects. The forum has made it abundantly clear that they like big, thick, smooth bamboo. I'm experimenting with that. Does anyone have ideas as to what plants I could use or ways I could arrange things? Any input is very helpful.

Sanservia and pothos ivy are what I have in all my Phelsuma vivs. They're hardy plants and thick-stemmed enough to hold up to geckos jumping and crawling all around in them.

Is your viv mostly screen or glass? If it's glass, it will hold in humidity and P. madagascariensis grandis would be a good choice. If it's all screen, P. standingi would be a better choice since they like it more dry.
