Nice pictures. The gecko in the third one (borbonica?) is so pretty.

I am using Zoo Med Reptisun 5.0 and Exo Terra Repti Glo 2.0. So far I can say i am very happy with the results of the change in lighting I did just over 2 months ago!!

Teenysidhe and Moosenart, first 2 photos are both of my female P guimbeaui. 3rd is of P borbonica(I have been told he is Phelsuma borbonica borbonica) and the last is a young female P pasteuri that I hatched. I got the P guimbeaui a couple months ago as well and she is slowly but surely getting less shy!

The borbonica is amazing looking. Sometimes his girls have pretty good coloration, and sometimes they are just dull. I almost got a photo of one of the girls a few days ago but she ran into bamboo when I pointed the camera at her.

Awesome guimbeaui, they are such a cool species. And that has got to be THE FATTEST borbonica I have ever seen. Are they a flighty species as far as phelsuma go?

My borbonica are by far my favorite when it comes to getting close. They don't want to be touched but aren't overly scared either. Yeah he is a big boy!

I watched some videos early from the 2011 gecko symposium and one of the speakers said blue eye rings = P borbonica mater. Mine has some blue on the eye area. I couldn't get a great look earlier to see how much but there definately looked to be a good amount. Anyone have any input on this subject?

Ive never heard this before. My animals seem to have the blue eye rings and were sold to me as maters. So heres one account to add to that.
male

female

I too can say that my adults are not so shy. The male eats from my hands all the time. I can put a meal worm on my hand and he will jump onto my hand and eat it. The female is a little more skittish but eats from tongs.

I was afraid that replies to the P borbonica complex were just going to leave me even more confused(thanks Jeff!). From everything that I've read though I think everyone is just about as confused as me.

Yours are amazing looking too!! All 3 of mine eat from tongs. 2 will eat Repashy Fig flavor CGD from a bowl out of my hand. I posted a link to a video on one of my last threads. The picture of my male on top of his tank was taken the day I left the paper towels out of the holes in the lid for literally 5 minutes while I was making their food and he got out. He was easy to get back in though!!
