Phelsuma's in group?
Hi
LOG IN TO CLOSE THIS AD
Is it other phelsuma's than P.klemmeri who can be held in groups?
The possitive thing for me with P.klemmeri is the possibility for several males in the group and hatchlings can hatch in the terrarium without beeing eaten by the adults.
Can this be done with other Phelsuma's?
Thanks

I know that it can work quite well with ornata.
I myself keep Phelsuma standingi as free roamers in my herp room. I started with 1,1 and I let nature go its way. Today they are at least 2,2 adults and I do not see any fighting

Hi John

From my experience it can work with P. klemmeri (there are also cases, where it didn't work any longer after a while, especially with more males). With P. standingi it can work if they rose up together, otherwise they can also be very aggressive. With all the other specisms I wouldn't risk it, sometimes it can work with 1.2, but often just for a certain time. With P. ornata I would definitely not risk it. In my eyes they are rather one of the more aggressive specisms. I keep 1.5 P kochi plus some juveniles in the animal room, for a while it worked with more males.
