Default thermostat question (Didnt' know where to put this)

Hi all i'm a bit confused about my heatmats and thermostat. Although my temps have been fine regulated at 32C for my leo's. I was wondering, if my thermostat is set at 32C does this mean my heatmat will get turnt on an off if temps go above and below this or will my heatmat switch on and keep rising if temps drop below 32C? :S

This is my thermostat:

I'm somewhat confused by your question. I looked at the manual for that thermostat, and this is what I came up with.

If you set the thermostat for 32C:
-it will turn on until the probe reaches 32C
-once 32C is reached, it will turn the heat pad off
-as temps cool, it will turn back on until 32C is reached

I hope that helps.

Yeah thats basically what I wanted to know...If I set it to 32C will it turn on when temps go below 32C and turn off when they above it?

You can still put a small light above the viv on a timer just to give a day/night effect. It won't hurt anything as long as it's not making it too hot.

I can only find 25W and a few 15W but they always give off to much heat (They make temps rise a bit to high and I can't be bothered to mess with the thermostat any more lol)

You could always use a small fluorescent light ... they don't usually give off much heat. Or another option would be to move the low wattage incandescent bulb farther away from the enclosure so that it still gets light but not as much heat. I generally use fluorescent unless a hot spot is necessary.
