Default How would you do this ?

Hello ,
Soon i am hoping to pick up a helmeted gecko and i have heard they need a UVB light and i am going to keep my helmeted gecko in a 110 lt tub... i will but a heat mat on one side of the plastic tub but where do i put the UVB light ? On top of the lid ? Or some how get it inside ... ?

If he can't get out, just take the lid off, and clamp the UV bulb to the side.

They can climb. Much more as youngsters, but even the adults will climb. They're mistakenly listed as non-climbers in some of the resources out there, but they readily climb both plastic and glass. As for the UV bulb, I've been keeping and breeding this species for several years without using any UV. Again, some resources out there make it sound like it is absolutely necessary. Others post what works for them, and UV may certainly work for some, but I've not had any problems without it, and have raised animals from hatchlings to breeders without any problems.
