Default Expandable Foam

Hi guys, I'm creating a naturalistic terrarium, and doing my first expandable foam background.
I've read loads of different things, and I was just wondering whether the foam can be applied directly to the terrarium glass or have to be spread on an intermediate such as a layer of silicon.
I've read accounts for both and was just wondering what you guys have experienced.
Also, how long will it take for the fumes to be dispersed so its safe to put a gecko in, will they go by the time the foam has cured, or will it take a little longer? I would read the bottle, but the one I ordered cam entirely in German :/
It will take around a day for the foam to cure right?
Cheers guys

It can applied directly to glass or silicone. It takes a few days for the foam to cure, but once you are done everything, leave it for a week for it to completely air out.

Yeah, one day should be enough. The time consuming part is covering it after.
