Default Disinfecting Driftwood?

I'm going out to find some nice driftwood and branches for my terrarium, all I'm curious about is do I need to disinfect the wood with anything before I can place the wood in my tank?

usually a good scrub then poping it in the oven at around 200-300 degrees is all you really need to do

Roy ~

For about how long would you recommend baking the driftwood?

I usually soak mine in a 10:1 water/bleach ratio and then let it air dry. Also, if the pieces aren't too big, a trip through the dish washer never hurts.

Thank you all for your helpful information I'll be attempting my first piece today. When I can get my camera up and running I'll try and get some photos of the finished product inside the terrarium.

Thumbs up re: driftwood

I let mine soak in a 10:1 water/bleach solution for a couple days. Then I turn around and rinse it then let it sit in pure water for a couple days to get the bleach off. I prob go overboard but I have ocd too so I also let it cook for about 30 minutes at 300 degrees.

Sunlight breaks down bleach.
So if you rinse it off and allow it to dry out in the sun you'll be right.
