Default Cleanin/Sterilising rocks and pots?

Hi all

Hope I posted this in the correct place.

I've been looking at vivarium ornaments and fish ornaments for my Leo enclosre. Somewhere he can hang out when he wants, maybe soak up some of the heat left in the rocks and all that.

No im not tight, but the stuff i look at is either way over priced for what it is, or not as good looking as its natural counter part.

Now my real question. Ive found some really nice rock and stone cluster (not loose) that id like to use for my little guy. How would you all recommend me cleaning and disenfecting these rocks before using. I was thinking 10/1 bleach/water ratio, followed by a scrub with reptile safe disenfectant and then in the oven at about 130 degrees for ten minutes. That should kill any bacteria harbouring in the stone shouldnt it?

Thanks in advance

All of those are fine. For a "reptile safe" soap, I often use dish washing liquid. If it's safe enough to use on dishes for you to eat off of, it's likely pretty safe for your gecko. I usually use Ivory as it doesn't contain any scent or color additives. You can of course buy all sorts of various medical grade cleaners as well (like Nolvasan, etc), but they're expensive and the baking process is going to kill most everything anyways. I think 140f might be the temp that you are suppose to obtain to kill bacteria. I usually use like 375f though. It's not like you're going to heat that rock or tree branch up too much (they won't melt)...and better safe than sorry IMO. I also run stuff through the dishwasher sometimes. It's made specifically to get hot enough to kill bacteria on your dishes. Just don't put in anything that has tons of dirt or sand, etc or you may find yourself with a broken dishwasher.

No dishwasher here. All the manual way

Shall try scent free washing up liquid and a good bake then. I think he will like the big stones I've found.
