Default My 1st Backdrop

Hi all
i decided to make a rockwall for my leaf tails
1 - reptile 1 tank 600 x 600 x 300
2 - polystyrene and grout
3 - cut diffferent sizes and stacked
4 - glued all to plywood backing with liquid nails
5 - shaped to whatever shapes looked rocky
6 - more shaping of ledges and cave
7 - 1st coat of grout and course sand mixture - white
8 - 2nd coat of grout - havanah
9 - pva and water 50/50 for sealer
- hot melt some fake plants
90 - put into tank and added leaftails

Note
1 drawback i had i used tile and grout sealer that melted the foam under the grout and it needed extra grout to fill - the rock wall is as heavy as a real 1
- so photos 7 & 8 are the latest after the misshap

Yoshi'smum, Harley Davidson, Zelda, mttycaz - thanks for the likes

Does Harley ride a harley ? I do (Nightster)

mttycaz - they seem to enjoy the wall as they are always on it in different places and as for grout sealer - ive only used waterproof PVA glue mixed with water 50/50 or so and its been fine so far - after my 1st attempt with grout sealer (non waterbased) my backdrop erodded away before my eyes so ive been a bit hessitant to use sealer - i have read here somewhere that a lot of people use seal all to seal the grout in - as we dont have that product down under (probably a different name) i thought that basic PVA glue that is non toxic mixed with water would do the job - it is also handy to add sandy surfaces for gecko grip with - just brush it on and add some sand to that area, when its dry just vacuum the excess off.
