Default dusting leopard geckos food

First of all i like to say hi, it's nice to meet you all and second is that i dont understand how many times you need to dust a leopard geckos food with calcium with d3 and multivitamins. I would appreciate it if you gave info about this on both juvenile and adult leopard gecko.

Personally for me it depends on what I'm feeding and how it was gut loaded. With crickets I dust every time with calcium, with vitamins twice a week. I raise my own roaches and know their diet from birth so I don't feel it's as needed since they are fed a hugely varied and complete diet. I'm sure every one does it their own way but it is key to prevent mbd.

There are too many variables to take in consideration. What insects are being fed, gutload and calcium product being used, age, body condition. I try my best to balance all insects and use supplements sparingly. You have to use your best judgement according to what your feeding. It's best to vary as many insects as possible and feed more of the healthier insects for ex: roaches, crickets, phoenix worms, silkworms, hornworms. Less of the fattier insects ex: mealworms, superworms.

This caresheet provides an idea and very helpful information.
