    Default Crickets!

    Greetings,

    How are you doing?

I just started a colony of crickets, so that I can have enough pinheads for when I next have froglets (I am currently raising Ptychadena tadpoles).

My female crickets are laying many eggs, and in about seven days, I should have pinheads. What I would like to know is what does everyone else feed their pinhead crickets? How do you water them?

And, is a diet full of water-rich foods, such as watermelon, orange, and potato okay to fulfill the water needs of your crickets?

    Thanks,
    Joh

    Default Pin head crickets

I feed my pin heads wheat flour with some brewers yeast and soy flour. For water I give them some apples, lettuce, greens such as turnip greens. I like to give them a small slice of orange but they will drown in the smallest drop of orange juice. When they get a little bigger I give them half wheat flour and half ground rabbit pellets with some brewers yeast and soy flour added. For moisture oranges, apples, lettuce, greens such as turnip greens. When they get to an 1/8-1/4 inch they really start to chow down their food.

    Default Thanks

    Hi Drillman,

Thank you for the quick reply. I will probably be experimenting with some different types of flours, but will take your advice as a guideline. Thank you.
