I have been told that you dont need a UVB bulb for the tokay, just the heat lamp and fluorescent? And does anyone know about the foggers they have out there, are they reliable and useful.

If you decide to place living plants in yer vat - UVB is just great - my friend's Ficus benjamina looks like he's right from Buchenvald even with proper care and I'm tired of cutting exceeding overgrowing branches from mine under UVB lamp.

It will be all fake plants so I should not need a UVB bulb. I should only need the fluorescent and the heat lamp? what have you found to be the best substrate? And lighting hours for a tank with just one tokay in it?

caresheet

Tokays normally don't spend much time on the soil but some substrates are better for humidity and some are better for hygiene.
It's up to you what suits best.
Lighting:12 to 14hours of darkness.

I use a substrate of peat moss. Helps with humidity. As for fluorescent lights, they dont really need them. Keep the cage with a high temp of high 80s low 90s and a cool side down to room temp. I've never used foggers I just spray a few times a day.

You guys just have a colered heat lamp and lamp for lighting correct. Just trying to get info, sorry if it is a bother. i have a 20 gallon tank with a modified 10 gallon resting on top giving it a L shape so the gecko will have more room to move around and get higher off the ground of he chooses. I just wondering about what are the best lights to use.
