Their voices do sound differently, I think. It would be a tendency though, not something you can rely on to tell gender.

Just play the mating call of a male tokay. The one who will jump towards the sound is probably a male.
Mine always pops up to check out the source of that sound while the female stays indifferent.

my girls have totally different voices. I dont claim it to be an exact science just what i consider when picking them.
