Default Did I just avoid a major problem?

I used to have my tokay in a 10 gallon with this mulch I got from the petshop. They keep the mulch on a heater so that if their are any parasites they'll die out. So I moved my tokay to a 55 a week ago (maybe less?) and also got a 2nd tokay to move in with what I'm pretty sure is a she and on the day I was moving everything out I noticed a small little weird bug. I didn't know what kind it was, thought it was weird, than just figured it climbed in some how. Just now I was looking in at the temp. strip in the 10 gallon since I hadn't cleaned it out yet (those aren't accurate, i know) to get an idea what the room temp was and noticed at least 10 of these weird little bugs are now climbing around in what used to be my geckos home. I'm starting to think it might be a roach, thank god they can't climb the glass! Lucky timing, I guess, my gecko didn't have to stay in a tiny critter keeper for a few days while I bleach out the 10 gallon and get new substrate lol. She didn't like the 10, no way she would've been happy staying there.

Sorry the pics are kind of blurry, I had to use my camera phone.

They will just each the beetles if they catch them. Nothing to worry about.

mine tend to ignore the beetles unless there are no crickets. the beetles make a good addition to the cage. if naturalistic they are great cleaners, i keep roaches in the tank too. they feed on fungus that can grow and other debris in the tank. earthworms take care of the rest.

the beetles however, if from superworms, do like to munch on wood. so any wood that is damp in the cage will get chewed. you may see small piles of "sawdust".
