Default My orange lady

She recently shedded her skin.
While i love the male for his deep red colors she has some amazing almost fluorescant orange spots.

A couple of days after the pics I posted she was lying on the ground breathing heavily...I immediatly went to the vet but he said he couldn't do much anymore and she probably had some bloodpoisoning already and was going into coma. He checked for constipation, and gass pockets but there was nothing to be found. As final hope he gave a shot of painkillers and some antibiotics...but we all knew chances were pretty slim.
A couple of hours later she passed away.

Even when they look healthy from the outside, you never know what happens inside.

2 shots of the necropsy
Probably died of blood poisoning by complications with the gallbladder
As you can see she was ready to lay 2 eggs as wel.

A terrible loss. I am sorry. I found my cb female Ptyodactylus guttatus dead on the cage floor this morning, no apparent cause. It's depressing.

sorry about your loss. is there any chance of saving the eggs? i know some people over on the chameleon forums that managed to save a clutch from an eggbound female.

No, I didn't do the necropsy right after death (was waiting till the next day for my sister with her tools to come over - she's a vet. student) + the eggs probably had their share of poisoning too.

You can see on this pic the green fluid was also on the eggs
