Am I smoking crack or are they barking?
I have 2 white lines I "rescued" from petsmart last week. I have no previous experience, other than the tokay I own. I understand they are closely related and have been known to vocalize. My question is, do they actually bark like a tokay? It kind of sounds like a light bulb that just burnt out.

I'm laughing becasue I got a vittatus (lined gecko) that was also "rescued from a Petsmart store" or something like that. I guess they got a lot in and management told them to dump them. They are wild collected of course. A neighbor bought it and gave it to me. I might pass it on to someone else.
I hear some very quiet barking. Not much more than tick, tick.

Aaaahhh! If only you lived near me... I would take it in an instant... But my parents probably wouldn't let me keep it... And you wouldn't ship!
(I really want some new kinds of geckos... In case you haven't noticed)

My smaller white lined that has the dotted line makes a lot of noise at night. I wouldn't call it barking, it sounds like more of a click or a squeak to me. The bigger one doesn't make any noise at all, that I've noticed.

I always thought the white-lined beckoes were always black from seeing them in petsmarts until I cam here and realized it was stress and they are really a beautiful gecko. I can't believe how beautiful they can get! Definitely on my must-have list.

Lol, Hi Matt!!
The solid white lined ones sure do squawk or bark when they're frightened or irritated. (mine hates being misted suddenly and will yell at me. I call it his "duck fart" noise.)
I am looking for a female so I can try and get my male to make mating call at some point and of course, so I can put them together!!
