Default see-through background

Hey,

I'm trying to acquire a background for my G. Vittatus and I had an idea. I want something that will make it so the skunks can't see outside the tank, but I can see inside. I want to do this so I can add a few more hides for them where the feel perfectly hidden, but I can still observe them. Kind of a one way mirror type background, but sot so heavy on the mirror part. I've been looking for a while for something that would do this, and the only thing I can find that is even remotely close is tinting for glass. As I'm not sure this would work, I thought it best to deffer this question to all of you. I'm hoping your experience might be able to provide me with some sort of answer.

Thanks a bunch,

Aaron

I've never heard of anything like your asking about. If you want to still view them but give them some privacy cover the 3 sides and leave the front open but I dont know anything like your asking about. Maybe there is something but I've just never seen it or heard about it.

Assuming that you talking about for use with a glass viv, mirrored window tinting for cars would work just fine. It's also cheap, waterproof, and easy to apply. It even comes in different mirrored colors (blue, green, yellow, etc). Here's an example of silver, but if you do a search on Ebay you'll find all the different colors and whatnot too:
eBay Motors: Chrome Silver Mirrored Window Tint Film 40" x 50' Sale! (item 220354947098 end time Feb-06-09 20:35:00 PST)

The green would look pretty cool.

I think the mirrored effect would freak the geckos out more than regular glass IMO

You know what would probably work pretty good is some of that camo blind fabric. The stuff that hunters use to make blinds out of. Make a little blind on the out side of the tank where they cant see out but you can somewhat see in.
