Skinny Tokay not eating
Hi there.
I have already mentioned this in other threads, but as I want you to get the whole deal, I will explain it here with all the details hoping for someone to help me.
A few weeks ago I brought home a female Tokay Gecko. She was already pretty thin and had just one eye (don't know how that happened, Im guessing another Gecko or, of course, bad human handle).
I really wanted her to recover.
The first days she ate a few Crickets (dusted with Calcium and D3) and didn't show any problems. I was worried about the eye, but it didn't seem to bother her. She could perfectly hunt crickets. Than I gave her mebendazol three days to get her parasite free. After that, she ate twice or so and never more.
The set up is a vertically fliped Aquarium 60x40x40cm, substrate peat moss (the best option you can get here), wood (plenty hidden places) and some plants. I mist al least once a day and has a heating lamp from one side, where she spends most of the time.
As she has become even more skinny, a few days ago, I fed her in the mouth a mix of mealworms (just the inside) and vitamins. After that I've seen here al least drinkin' some water from the glass, but still not intersted in Crickets as in the beginning.
Anybody knows what to do in this case? I think all I need is to get her to eat by herself again.
*about the eye, Im pretty sure of that it is healed and that is does not bother here at all.
