When i got Eenor a few months ago, there was no hope in trying to handle. Squeeks and bites and sporadic energy is all I got from him. Now after a few months i decided to give handling another shot. To my surprise, he doesn't seem to mind being held now, i wouldnt say enjoy because he still trys to walk away. but much better than runing and jumping. He calmed down for a while and rested on my leg for about 30 minutes until catching site of a toad in my other cage. Here's a few pictures i want to share. I'm really impressed by his coloring. You'll see in the pictures why!
bad focus on this one, but the only one i snapped while on my hand
Mine male is way calmer than female. It took me 6 months to tame female but I was able to handle male within a month after I've bought him. Here's female:
thanks for sharing those videos! People ALWAYS give tokays a bad wrap! i do still have trouble taking him out of the cage. my cage is very tall and its hard for me to reach down and try and catch him, plus he seems like he wants to stay.
i didnt really. i used to try and hold him when he was little, and he wouldnt have it. but i tried again now about 4 months later. and he seemed ok with it. i have trouble getting him out because i dont like to grab him around the neck. i try more to scoop him onto my hand by sliding my fingers under his chin. he really doesnt seem to mind and suprisingly doesnt try to bite. one thing that i think may attribute to it is that my cage is positioned right next to my couch. so when i sit right next to the cage, he will rest on the s-shaped stick in the upper left of this picture and watch me doing homework or anytime i sit there on my computer. I wont notice it until i look up to see where hes at and when i look up he kinda slides around the stick thinking i dont see him. So i know hes comfortable with my sight because he watches me all the time. Its kinda nice sometimes he seems to be watching whats on my computer screen.
