Its just one of those things.They tend to *Fire up* for verying reasons.
As long as its healthy i wouldnt base there coloration on anything.

Thats what I notice, my male turns almost black when he is sleeping, and is lighter and more vibrant when he is awake. The female is the opposite!? So it looks like I have Yin and Yang Tokays when they're sleeping next to each other.

My male has similar behaviour.

no it depends on the gecko. my gecko became very dark when she wanted to sleep and relax. she turned a bright color when she was happy and a greenish color when she was scared
