Default introducing darwin and few questions

hey, I just bougth my first tokay a week ago, I'm almost sure it's a "he", he is too skinny and he is not eating as he should, I feed him crikets, but they all dissapear in the enclosure before he catches one, I have to pick them all from under the stones and hiddings, and try again, should I let them hang around untill he eat them all? how do you feed your tokays? how often

hope i,ve made myself clear... thanks!!!

CONGRATS ON THE NEW TOKAY! and for your problem there could be multiple reasons why he isnt eating but first, Is he WC??? What are the temps??? the size of the enclosure???Humidity??? and substrate??? on top of this it takes Tokays a while to get used to their new habitat, it could take weeks and I hate to say it but some dont adapt at all and end up starving themselves. I think you should leave him be so he can get settled in and try not to feed him for 1 or 2 days, most come around eventually in the second week and should eat when hes comfortable.

Put the crickets into a container where he can reach them, but they can't scape.
It's the easiest way to control it.

good luck!

What happened to it's jaw?
Just try to handle it very little, so it settles in propperly.
Maybe a fecal would be a good idea too.

de nada xD!

What I always do is start out feeding a new tokay 2 crickets every other to every 3rd day. Don't feed them to much right at the start. That will be enough to keep it going but yet keep it a little hungry and it will help build up its appetite and you will have a better feeding response. It wont matter if you put the crickets in a cup or just in the cage your tokay will nab them up before the crickets have much time to do anything. As you notice he is eating better offer it more crickets over time. I seen "tokeh" said to offer him pinky mice for a few days. I disagree with that. Offer your tokay a nice healthy diet of insects and it will fatten up over time. Just think about this for a second if you need to put some weight on your self but be healthy are you going to go out and shove a bunch of candy down your throat. That is basically what the pinky is to the tokay. The occasional pinky mouse is perfectly fine but do not over use them. Pinkys are full of fat and that not a healthy way to get your tokay fattened up.
