Default Tokay eggs

Hi there, my tokay female laid 7 eggs this season and none of them has hatched so far. Is it possible that all 7 of them are infertile? Can they still hatch after 5 months? The eggs are not being guarded.

Thanks in advance ! Greetings David

First some questions: Do you know that she has bred? What temperature are the eggs at? Do they still look full in shape and white in color?

It is entirely possible for eggs laid 5 months ago to still be incubating. Although most of my Tokay eggs hatch in 90-105 days there are recorded hatchings taking slightly more than 200 days. So I'd leave them alone and wait for them to either hatch or look definitively bad. If they are still full and white I bet you'll have little Tokays running around soon! Good luck!

During the cooler months when the ambient temp in my reptile room tends to stay cooler i have had tokay eggs take right around 200 days to hatch. Usually if they are infertile the females will eat the eggs so if she has not ate them there is a good chance they are good.

I don't think she has bred. I will post the temperatures after I measured them. They still are white and full in shape but they seem a bit granular. I will let them where they are because I've got nothing to lose.

Thanks guys for your help !

Well if they're white and full still and the female hasn't eaten them, you're almost certainly going to have baby tokays running around soon.

Keep us posted!

Last night I found a hatchling outside the tank .
It was moulded except for his feet. It seemed like it couldn't climb. I tried to take some pieces of with a pincet but it didn't work really well.
I put it in a small tank with a piece of corkbark and I'm keeping the tank warm.
How can I solve this problem? The poor fellow couldn't climb

Please help !

I'm unclear on what you mean by it's "moulded"? Tokays shed soon after hatching - does it have stuck shed on its feet and maybe that's what's impeding it from climbing/sticking properly? If so, I would mist it and keep it very humid and see if that helps.

Oh and by the way, congrats on the hatchling!!

I think he meant "molted". I agree with David that you want to mist it and keep it humid. I'd also make sure that there's some stuff like cork bark, wood, slate, or something with some rough surface area that it can climb on to help get the shed off of it's feet. Take some pics of the baby and post them when you get a chance. Everyone loves baby pics! Congrats.
