Default Wooden Cage help

I have started making a wooden cage for my tokays, and today i went to home depot and got some plywood. Its gonna be 3ft tall 2ft wide and 2ft long. So the thing that worries me is that plywood is made out of pine. Which has aromatic fumes which is not good for the geckos to breath in. I was thinking if i put a few coats of laquer or paint on the inside and a nice vent at the top. It would probably be fine. Any other suggestions?

do you think the paint will prevent the fumes from the pine from coming in?

a lot of cages are made from wood and painted, also a lot of backgrounds are painted. so that will be no problem.
