Default Hows about this trade?!?

Hey everyone,

I just thought I would let everyone in on my good fortune. I was vending the NARBC show in Tinley a few weeks ago, and I traded with a girl who came to the table a baby crested gecko for a nice pair of Gecko vittatus, AKA, Skunk or White lined geckos. I have never had any of this species, and must say that they have proved to be really good captives.

It may be a while before I can get some pics up, but i will work on it.

Looking forward to hearing from others who are appreciating this species.

Best Regards,

Timmm

They are the first herps I ever bred. One of my favorite geckos I've kept and would jump on any CB ones if I could find some. I sold all of my geckos when I joined the Canadian Forces.

These guys love sweet fruits and nectar so make sure you offer some.

I have two yellow eyed solid striped big males and a pair I put together that both have the red eyes solid stripes, and one egg incubating. These guys are really rewarding to keep and I think they're beautiful.
Mine love the Crested Gecko Diet by Repashy, fresh very ripe papaya, and a variety of insect feeders, from crickets & roaches to hornworms and silkworms (these guys and the Tokays are about the only bug eaters I have that will eat silks) to supers and mealies on occasion. I keep em at about the same temps and humidity as the Tokays, I mist them heavily every night. Very easy geckos to keep and good fun!

Thanks for the feedback!

I keep my pair almost exactly like my cresteds, including repashy diet.

Aside from being beautiful, mine handle almost like my cresteds, and arent as spastic/flighty as my ulikovski or gekko. The individual I obtained them from had said that they were from a pet store that had closed, so they may have been worked with beforehand.

I really like watching them in repose, they sit with their tail curled and dont run around the cage when you approach the tank.

It is peculiar how similar they are to ciliatus in their habits.

Hahha, I find mine are much more like Tokays than the ciliatus, LOL. They're much quicker than the cresteds and far more skittish and vocal. But I still love em!
